Pool Party with the Grahams

Allan is house sitting for a couple of months at a house in Highland Park, he invited all of us Graham's over for a BBQ and a swim. It was a pleasant afternoon visiting, eating awesome hamburgers, brauts and corn from the grill. This is the first time Paige really enjoyed the pool, splashing her self over and over again laughing. We couldn't keep Matthew from continually jumping in the water. Thanks bro for a relaxing Sunday afternoon with the fam.

Messy Food Faces

Matthew

Paige

Paige loving on her brother.

Last night before bed the kiddos sat down to watch Garfield. Paige brought over her favorite blanket to Matt and wanted to sit with him on the bean bag chair. She was all lovey with him giving him hugs and pats on the back. Matthew did his best to not get to annoyed with her.

Another week of Tennis camp completed!!

Well after another week of tennis camp it seems that Matt is really getting it down. On the last day of camp this week his little camp buddies were cheering him on to hit the balls into the trees adjacent to the courts. To the best of my knowledge Matt was the only kid in his age group that was able to hit the ball far enough to get in the trees. It was very cool to watch. I'm glad I was in town to see how far he has come along with his tennis.

Matt enjoyed every day of camp and even woke Jo and I up on Wed morning at 6 am to leave. The funny thing was he had dressed himself in his tennis gear and was ready to go hat and all! We were apparently being slackers for wanting to sleep in until 6:45.

Random note - What may I ask would you think the first thing you would want to do after spending over 3 hours playing tennis in upper 90 degree heat? I for one would want a shower and a nap. However Matt as soon as he gets home wants to go swimming in the pool, jump on the trampoline, and play with his friends next door. This kid is like the energizer bunny.

Of course the peanut gallery was there to help cheer Matt on. Correction.... cheer him on when they were not out shopping in the wonderful Dallas shopping that is available in the ritzy side of town.

Her new favorite shoes.

Helping herself to the fridge.

Loving on her Baby Doll.

Yawn, Smile & Content

Paige is at such a fun age. She loves to read books and the same one over and over again. She loves to sit on her bean bag chair with her ultra soft blanket. She has finally grown into the shoes that Grammy bought her and she wears them all the time even to bed. She loves playing with her dolls and loves jewelry, especially necklaces. She has a mouth full of teeth coming in now. She loves to walk, walk, walk. She can say hi, up, mama, dada, woof, duck, and can sign more. She is so girly and full of grit (that is what daddy says which she gets from me). She has learned so much over just the past couple of weeks that it will be fun to see where she is in a couple of weeks.

Just a little bit of rain today

The weather over the past 18 hours has been pretty interesting in Fort Worth. Last night the Gods of rain, flooding, and tornado's were in full effect. The evening went from nice and calm to a complete onslaught from the clouds. We lost power a few times and even had the tornado sirens going off during one of the outages. Pretty cool.

For some of you that have been to our house you know we have this little creek just down at the end of the street. That little creek is as I speak is significantly larger than I have ever seen it. Notice I said "as I speak" because just a few hours ago it was simply put, a massive flow of water. I took some pictures as a before and after kinda thing. Even the after flow is significantly increased from the usual tiny stream that is back there. This would qualify as perfect example of flash flooding from my standpoint.

Just a little interesting thing I thought I would share.

IPHONES

Clay and I for our birthdays got IPhones!!! We paid off one credit card and sold the Expedition, so we decided that we needed a little something. I saw on yahoo that they had just lowered the price down to $99, so with out thinking twice about it we went the next day and come home with these. How did we live life without them???? These are the coolest gadgets ever!

Good Bye to The Dish

After almost 2 years in the Auto Trader we have finally sold the Expedition. Very sad day yet it is wonderful to no longer have any car payments (We are driving my mom's accord and dad's truck while they are in China). This is the very last thing that I got on my credit by myself while I was working, aka Jo before kids. Clay promises in a couple of years I can get something better than the Dish.

Day at the Zoo with Grammy

My mom had a three week visit to the US from China. We drug her around everywhere from honkball practice, birthday parties, tennis camp and everyday errands. We wore her out. Life as a mom with an older kid is tiring when you are driving them around from event to event. It was so good to have her here with the kiddos. Paige finally warmed up and even was able to leave her with Grammy while Clay and I had a couple of dates. Matthew really enjoyed his time alone with Grammy spending a couple of nights at her house. The last day she was her we enjoyed the morning at the zoo.
