Getting ready to go ski and sitting in the back of Grandpa's truck
The morning of day one the girls and Matthew went on a walk. The first pics are right outside our cabin. Matthew had tons of giggles over throwing snow balls and sliding down the piles of snow. Mean while the boys went skiing. Clay some how fell off the side of the mountain, hitting trees and landing in this pile of trees. If you look at the tree to the left in the middle you can see where his skis left a mark on the tree. Allan saw everything and thought that Clay was seriously injured. These pics were taken a few days after the accident.
Right behind the hotel we were staying at was a train yard. Matthew had a blast watching the trains. We even got to hear the engines buffering up to the cars. The first pictures are of Matthew standing next to extra train wheels. Maybe one day Matthew will be a train conductor.
On our way to New Mexico this year we left one day early so we could stop half way. On the way we stopped and looked at trains. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express. Matthew ate pizza while riding the baggage cart. We ate cookies and swam. Stacey and Trent rode along with us
Christmas morning, Grammy and Grandpa came over to our house before Matthew woke up. We were all just doing our own thing and Matthew somehow snuck past us and started playing with
Jeremy the Jet plane. He could of gotten that one thing and been just fine, but of course the presents went over board for him again. Stacey and Trent got him a Leap Frog video game which he loves to play with in the car. Allan got him lots of Thomas the train cars, bridges and Cranky the Crane. He got tons of other stuff from Grammy, Grandpa, Grandma, Great Grandma and the Lacey's. He always gets spoiled. The baby in progress also got lots of cute stuff. It was fun being together as a family again, it had been a whole year since we had all been together. We ate turkey dinner including ham for Allan, sat around talked and watched a movie. It was simple yet lots of fun. Matthew and Uncle Allan have this knuckle thing that they keep adding new things to (Matthew loves it).
This year Christmas was so much fun. Matthew understood the whole Santa thing. His favorite holiday movie is The Polar Express. He asked Santa to bring him Jeremy the Jet Plane (associated with Thomas the Train). He baked cookies Christmas Eve and hung his stocking. Santa did not disappoint the little guy.
This Christmas Eve we went with Grammy and Grandpa to a live Nativity in Denton. Matthew liked feeding the camels. Then on the way back home we stopped in front of Texas Motor Speedway and took pictures underneath there gigantic tree.
This is for all you haters out there who said I needed to update the blog. Yes you are right the blog needs to be updated. But this was one of Clay's jobs not Jo's. I, Jo, have now taken over the blog, it will be updated regularly. I am playing ketchup so I started with Halloween and am moving forward. Hopefully soon I will get caught up. Love ya guys tons. The blog will be more of a pic/journal type thing for me. Hope you enjoy reading about our little families life.
Allan hooked us up big time with tickets to the Cowboy game. Stacey and Trent sat at the end zone and the rest of us sat on the 40 yard line. Right when we got there Allan bought Matthew a Romo jersey, he wasn't quite sure about it (now he loves it and wears it when we watch a game).
Matthew was mesmerized by the whole thing. He liked the guys crashing into each other. I think that he thought they were wrestling. The coolest part was right before half time it started snowing!! It never snows in Texas and the crowd went wild. I mean a couple of days before it was 80 degrees. Matthew finally fell asleep in the 4th quarter. We all had a blast. The final score was cowboys 34 Jets 3. Thank You Allan!!!!
The week before Thanksgiving the Family packed up and went to Utah. At the airport Matthew and Mom road the SkyTram around and around the airport, he loved it. He is such a good travel buddy these days. He loves to take airplane rides. Grandma took Matthew and Livie to Build-a-Bear. Matthew chose a monkey named George and Livie chose a bunny named Thumper. Livie had fun dressing up Thumper but Matthew insisted that George did not need clothes. It was so much fun watching Livie and Matthew play and a good break. They kept each other entertained almost the whole time and even took naps together. It was good to see all the Welchs. It seem like we do not get a chance to see them a lot since we are down in Texas.
This past Halloween was busy. Matthew and mom went to the pumpkin patch in Flower Mound. We were Thomas the train at Grammy's work and at the ward party. I won runners up for my trunk decorations. Halloween night Clay got to go with us trick or treating and Matthew went as Buzz Lightyear.
Here in Texas we are finally a complete family with Clayton, Jo Lynn, Matthew, Paige and our dog Missy. Hope our friends and family enjoy our pics and comments about our everyday lives.
