Day 3 at Tennis Camp

Matt is now hitting the ball over the net. Allan throws the ball over the net to them and then they hit it back. Allan says that Matthew has pretty good eye hand coordination. The girls think Matthew is so cute and they love to rub his head.

Tennis Camp

This week was Matthew's first time to do Tennis Camp. He is attending the summer tennis camp at the club that his Uncle Allan teaches at. Matt is doing great and meeting lots of new friends. He gets to keep going from team to team as he is being continually asked by other kids to come and play on their team. I know he is loving the interaction and Mom 'n Dad are enjoying sitting under the trees watching. And let us not forget Allan, I'm thinking he is really enjoying getting to teach Matt his trade. Paige has been great as well. Just napping and enjoying the outdoors as you can tell in here pictures.

Win win for all.

Here is a short video of one of the exercises that Matt has been doing this week during tennis camp in Dallas. Uncle Allan was his instructor for today and Matt had a blast!! This is the video I've put up so let's hope it looks OK.

My Fathers Day Gift

For Fathers Day Jo gave me something very cool. It's a cutaway out of a Fokker aircraft from a vintage magazine with a vintage Fokker flight bag sticker as well, all framed up nice. Some may not fully appreciate how difficult Fokker merchandise can be to come across but you'll have to trust me.... it's a challenge to get good quality Fokker stuff.

Thanks a ton Jo! I love it so much I had to share it.

He can leap buildings in a single bound!!!

How does a 4 year old entertain himself while Mom is busy folding laundry?
Simple. He grabs a pair of my socks, proceeds then to get a cape (Ok he had help with the cape) and SHAZZAM.... you have Superman in his skivvies runnin' around the house.
We all had a good laugh out of this one.

Happy 4th Birthday Matthew

Just a little shout out to Matthew on his 4th birthday. We went to Dave & Busters while my mom was still here a week ago and celebrated. Matthew was confused with people calling him today to wish him a happy birthday, he thought he already had his birthday. Stacey put trick candles on his cake and he loved it. Thanks to all for all the wonderful presents he received. He is loved.

Giving up the Binkie

We bargained with Matthew, he was able to get a bike if he threw away all of his binkies. For two days we talked all about it and he was really excited. He threw them away and then we went to pick out a bike. That night he begged his dad to take the bike back and to go to the store to buy 2 binkies. The first night was rough, but now it is smooth sailing. It worked out good for both parties because it was also his birthday present.

2 Months Old

Miss Paige is now 2 months old. She has started cooing and smiling at us. She has finally moved up to newborn clothes and size 1 diapers.

Singing to the Mothers

Today was Matthew's big debut singing in sacrament meeting. He followed the herd of kids up to the stage to sing to all the moms. He ended up being the only kid standing on the stairs on the left hand side. Matthew was so confused as why he was up there. He first shock his head, shrugged his shoulders and lifted one hand upside down and you could see him talking to himself trying to figure out why he was standing there and what he should do. He all of the sudden broke out both hands and started conducting the song. He was a big hit and got lots laughs. There is always one kid that always stands out when the kids are up there singing. He just happened to be the one this time.

Zoo Trip w/ Grammy

Today Grammy took us to the zoo. Matthew loved the penguins, crocodiles and snakes. After the zoo we took a train ride around Trinity Park, just like when I was his age.

Paige's Blessing

Today we blessed Paige at our house. My dad's flight ended up being earlier than expected so the bishop allowed us to proceed without him there. Clay did an amazing job. Paige looked beautiful in the dress Colleen made for her. It was made out of material from my wedding dress.

Whataburger T-shirts

My parents went to Whataburger at 2:30 in the morning because they can't sleep. My dad strikes up a conversation with the workers there and they got free shirts so they could wear them into McDonalds in China and tell them that this is what a hamburger should taste like. They also decided to wear them as a joke when Allan brought his new girl over to meet them. Neely thought it was funny, my brother was not amused.
