Kindergarten

The day has arrived, my son is in Kindergarten!!! After the meet and greet with the teacher last Thursday Matthew was very concerned over the lack of toys in the classroom and I had to explain to him that he was going to learn at school and by the end of the year he would be able to read. We woke up early this morning and had pancakes and sausage for breakfast. We walked to school and it was such a sweet feeling to just watch him walking along with his friends. Each morning Matthew will gather with his class in the cafeteria and place his lunch in a bucket with his teachers name on it. I thought I would not get choked up but I did when the bell rang and we started to walk with him to his class. I got him situated and then he said "Bye mommy I love you." He is going to have so much fun this year and I am looking forward to seeing just how much he learns.
On a side note Matthew has his first wiggly tooth!!!

Days with Matthew

While Paige was in MDO this week Matthew was able to choice activities to do. On Monday Grandma was here and Matthew's pick was Putt Putt. On Thursday we went to Chuck e Cheeses and then went to lunch at Carino's for some of their yummy nachos. I forgot how much easier it is with just one child. It was fun having time alone with just Matthew.

Paige's 1st Day at Mother's Day Out

Mrs. Ruth, Paige's Teacher
I went into this with a lot of hesitation because Paige has never been left with really anyone before. It turned out that she did wonderful. As soon as I showed up she screamed with excitement and went around to all the toys to show me what she had done that day. There are 4 other boys in her class this year and so far so good. They went over colors and shapes today. This will be a wonderful experience for her and mommy.

Putt Putt

Go in the hole, the hole is your home!!

This past Saturday we attended a friend's birthday party that was held at Putt Putt. This was Matthew's first time playing miniature golf and he loved it. We were able to play video games, ride rides, and play golf. Every hole we went to Paige had to point out the hole to us. Besides being 100 degrees we had a blast.

Sand

Paige's new love, sand. As soon as I open the back door the waddle is on to the existing sandbox. The joy of picking up sand, shoveling it around, wiggling toes in it and enjoying the sounds of the outdoors results in non stop giggles from my little girl.

Trampoline

At the beginning of summer Matthew was wearing both Clay and me down. He had to much energy. So we decided to buy him a trampoline to help him exert his energy. If he even says he is bored I just tell him to go jump. He has been loving it and it keeps him pretty busy. He loves to jump on it while a sprinkler is running. Very good investment.

Cousins

Cousins are there to share laughter, smiles, hugs and at times a duel.

Grandma

We had such an amazing time staying with Grandma!!! She finished out a room in her basement so we would have a place to sleep. It was so quite and cool in the basement. Matthew would sleep with Grandma each night and before he went to bed they would sit out on her patio, eat a go gurt and have a conversation. Thanks for the wonderful memories.

Utah's Hogle Zoo

We went to the zoo with Nita, Rene and Elliott and had fun until the heat got to us. We rode the train, saw a 1 day old giraffe, road the carousel and had ice cream. On the way back to the house Colleen and I both were thinking that another day at Cowabunga would have been so much more fun.

Cowabunga Water Park

This was by far the funnest thing we did the whole trip. When we got there Paige was a sleep so I was able to hit the slides hard with Matthew. We went on every slide at least twice. This brings back childhood memories of spending the summer at Wet n' Wild. Matthew had no fear and was giggling every time I would pop out of a slide after him. Matthew was thrown down to the ground when a huge bucket of water fell on him and gave him a nice size mark on his forehead. After that incident he was a little more cautious. Paige had fun roaming around, sun bathing and eating.
